The Templar Trail in America
In 1307 the Templar fleet left La Rochelle on the French coast laden with the treasure of the Paris Temple just days before the Templars were ordered to be arrested. The fleet sailed for Scotland and refuge. The Sinclair family, founding members of the order shared a seafaring heritage and put their fleet to use in exploring a new world. Henry Sinclair landed in Nova Scotia, explored further south, and left evidence of his presence. He vowed to plant a colony in Arcadia. Evidence of Templar travels in New England begins in Nova Scotia where a Venetian Cannon was found in the vicinity of Sinclair’s landing. It Vermont evidence turned up along Lake Memphremagog, a body of water straddling the Canadian border. In Massachusetts the effigy of Sir James Gunn, on a granite ledge in Westford is a monument to Sinclair’s top lieutenant who fell in battle. In Fall River, a strange suit of armor is uncovered. And finally the unmistakable tower in Newport.
